Events
The William Brooks PTA supports our our community and students throughout the year by hosting a variety of social events.
We build a community by hosting events like the Talent Show, Ice Cream Social, Harvest Carnival, Family Dances, Family Movie Nights, Donuts with Grownups, Staff Appreciation Week, Bear Business Fair, and Holiday Secret Store. These community events give our kids a chance to have fun and make some awesome lasting memories! We raise money by holding fundraisers like the Jog-a-thon, Book Fairs, Community Dine-Outs, and the Spring Fundraiser (Gala, Read-a-thon, etc.). Money raised goes toward classroom enrichment, class field trips, assemblies, the Art program, the Garden program, STEAM Club, and much more! We work with the Brooks staff to make sure our kids have the resources and materials they need!
TK & Kindergarten Playdate
Each year, the PTA welcomes all families of TK and Kindergarten students to join us a day or two before school starts, at Peter Bertelsen Memorial Park (just up the street from campus) after they attend the Kindergarten Meet and Greet at school. This is a great time for the students to meet new friends while having fun in the park!
Ice Cream Social
The PTA hosts an ice-cream social for all families one evening during the first few weeks of school. This is a free welcome back event hosted by the PTA . Stop by anytime with your picnic dinner and a blanket and we will provide the ice cream! Spirit wear will be on sale so you can stock up on gear to wear on Spirit Fridays! The event will be held outside in the grassy area near the gym and 1st/2nd grade classes.
Jog-a-thon
The jog-a-thon is one of our largest fundraisers each year and the kids love getting involved! The love dressing in their school colors and running their hearts out! In 2023, with over 74% of our students collecting pledges, we surpassed our school goal and raised over $30,000 to go towards classroom enrichment, field trips and assemblies, our art program, and money towards a much needed, new marquee!

Harvest Carnival
The annual Harvest Carnival held at William Brooks campus is one of the most fun and exciting events the PTA hosts each year. This outdoor event is held in late October and will typically includes Games & Prizes, Food Vendors, Music & Dancing, a Costume Parade, a Spooky Scavenger Hunt, a Pumpkin Showcase and more!! Kids are encouraged to wear their costumes, participate in the costume parade, bring a decorated pumpkin to display at our Pumpkin Showcase, and be ready to play lots of fun carnival games!
The Harvest Carnival is the largest PTA-sponsored event for the kids each year and it requires the help of a LOT of volunteers to be a success. Planning typically starts three months before the event. There is a variety of volunteer roles to suit all types of people and that require varying amounts of time. Students can show off their talents on stage or by having their artwork displayed. Look for information about this event after winter break!
This event requires the help of a many of volunteers to plan and run auditions and the show. If you would help with this event , please CLICK HERE to learn more about the volunteer roles and let us know if you would like to help out!
Secret Holiday Store
Your child will receive a very special gift this holiday season...the joy of giving! Our PTA will be hosting a secret holiday store in December. This is a special opportunity for your child to buy small gifts for their family members and/or friends for the holidays. Volunteer elves will help the students wrap the gifts so they will be a surprise for the holidays.
Spring Fundraiser
The Spring Fundraiser is one of our largest fundraisers of the year. In addition to raising money for our programs that require annual backing (technology, student assemblies, garden and art programs), prior spring fundraisers have raised money for the shade-structure over the playground, new Chromebooks, and the new marquee!
Chairs of this event get to choose the style of the event (a Read-a-thon, Gala, Family Bingo night, etc.). If you would like to help us plan, read about how you can help with a Read-a-thon or Gala, and let us know if you would like to help out!
Donuts with Grownups
Donuts with Grownups is a fun event held in Spring before school at which the PTA provides breakfast for our students and 1 or 2 of their favorite grownups. Stay tuned for more details!
This is one of our easiest events to plan and can be lead by a small group of volunteers. Please CLICK HERE to learn more about the volunteer roles and let us know if you would like to help out!
Bear Business Fair
At the Bear Business Fair, student participants of the Bear Business Program can show off their businesses and sell the products or services they developed during the Bear Business Program. In 2023, there were 27 student-run booths inside the Brooks gym. All are welcome to come shop and experience the products and services that the participants of the Business Fair are selling!
