Requirements​

Please see the requirements for each of the areas to help us create a great show for all! All aspects of acts, costumes, art, and garden exhibitions must be aligned with the school value of Respect, be appropriate for an all-ages audience, and must be free of violent or divisive imagery or messaging. Organizers reserve the right to disqualify inappropriate submissions. Now… let’s create a great show!

Talent Show requirements:

  1. Talent is limited to 2 minutes per performance. Actual allotted performance time may be less than 2 minutes depending on the number of talent show acts. Each student may participate in a maximum of one act, whether that is a solo act or group.

  2. If your act requires music, you must provide an MP3 file of your music. If you are going to sing, your background music must be instrumental only, no lyrics. A keyboard and a sound system will be available. Please email your MP3 file by April 6 to jaleh.naasz@gmail.com

  3. Participants must be children; no adults please.

  4. IMPORTANT DATES: The audition on Friday, April 8 3:15pm-5pm will help organizers create a balanced show; acts will not be cut from the show. MANDATORY rehearsals will take place from 3:15pm-5:15pm on Friday, May 6 and Thursday, May 12. If your child has a major conflict with any dates, please contact jaleh.naasz@gmail.com

  5. There is no childcare available, please be with your child at the audition, rehearsals, and performance.

  6. Permission slip must be submitted by Friday, April 8 by 10am.

  7. Please note the end times are estimated and will depend on the number of acts, cooperation of the kids and how many parent volunteers are helping.  Volunteer HERE

 

Art Exhibit requirements:

  1. Each student may submit up to two pieces of art.

  2. All art must be original and created by the student. 

  3. Note the student's name, teacher & grade on the back or bottom of each piece. All artwork will be returned after the show.

  4. Art must be turned in to the front office by Friday, May 6 to be displayed in the art show.

  5. Permission slip must be submitted by Friday, May 6. 

 

Garden Exhibit requirements: 

  1. Each student may submit up to two pieces for the garden exhibit.

  2. Must have the student’s name, teacher and grade written on the back or bottom. All exhibits will be returned after the show.

  3. We understand that living garden exhibits may need to be in your care until just prior to the event; please plan to drop off on May 6 or May 12. We will not be able to provide care for living exhibits.

  4. Permission slip must be turned in by Friday, May 6.

 

Hat Parade requirements: 

  1. Current or incoming TK or Kindergarten students.

  2. Hats should be made/decorated at least in part by the student.

  3. Please arrive to the Spring Spotlight on Friday, May 13 no later than 4:30 pm to practice the parade.

  4. Permission slip must be turned in by Friday, May 6. 

 

Emcee and Tech Team: 

  1. 5th grade students only.  Permission slip must be turned in by Friday, April 8. 

  2. IMPORTANT DATES: Audition on Friday, April 8 at 3:15pm Emcees: Prepare a joke so we can get to know your personality. MANDATORY rehearsals will take place at 3:15pm on Friday, May 6 and Thursday, May 12. 

  3. Additional meetings may be required, to be determined.
