William Brooks Elementary PTA is excited to host our lunch-time STEAM Club again this school year! STEAM stands for "Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math."
At STEAM Club meetings, Brooks 1st - 5th grade students who want to participate will work with peers to solve hands-on STEAM challenges: imagining, designing, building, testing, and improving upon their ideas, and engaging in class discussion about each step of the process.
When and Where
STEAM Club will meet on Mondays during lunch recess time. Students will go to the STEAM Lab (next to the library) either before or after they eat. Participants will be informed when it is their time to go to the lab. We may adjust the schedule mid-year if necessary.
Expectations
Brooks Bears always strive to be "respectful, responsible, and safe." The privilege of being in the STEAM Club relies upon a student's best effort to live up to our Brooks Bear motto!
Questions?
The STEAM Club is led by parent volunteer instructor Melissa Keyzer. Your child may know her from STEAM Club last year, having had her as a substitute teacher in their classroom, or from her work with the Brooks art program and other PTA activities. Feel free to reach out to Melissa at wbrookspta@gmail.com if you have any questions about the STEAM Club.
